Newborn photography has become almost a must for all new parents, and of course being a newborn photographer it thrills me! New photographers keep popping up every day, regardless of their knowledge and education in photography and business. I love it when my clients tell me they have been researching for a few weeks, and just kept coming back to my website. It means that they know what they want and are educated on newborn photography. It is important that the photographer you chose (even if it is not me) is experienced in working with newborns. ASK!
It is important your photographer understand not only understand newborns but proper camera techniques; lighting, focus and consistent quality. While browsing their portfolio ask yourself; Are the photos exposed correctly? Do they seem too dark or too bright? Are babies in focus? Do their features seem sharp or soft?
Each newborn photo should convey emotion and feelings. Are you distracted by busy backgrounds or large props? All photos should feel timeless and classic. A good photographer will know how to incorporate personal items and props without distracting from the baby.
Posing a baby correctly and safely takes practice. It takes years of training. Does baby look safe and comfortable? In the photos, baby should look relaxed and peaceful. All poses will not “work” on all babies. If you have an experienced photographer they will always put babies safety first.
I am always available for questions about any of the above or any of my techniques. I always put babies safety first to make them comfortable for their photo shoot. Using my years of photography and newborn experience I provide my clients with beautiful, timeless photographs.
Michelle Lindenmuth Photography wishes you a very Happy and healthy New Year!
Who is ready for an amazing 2016! We are!
Philadelphia Newborn Photographer The most beautiful babies in Philly.
overload….. We have had so many beautiful newborn babies in the last couple months I have a share a few recent lovelies.
Beginnings… Their sweet soft hair, papery skin, amazing smell, and wonder. I could bottle up all that sweet innocence of a baby and hold it forever. I love photographing the parents too because the instant and fierce love of a parent toward their child is like nothing ever before or ever again.
Sweet dreams… little ones
Yours for a lifetime…
Love all the babies I meet. I’m so lucky! #bestjobintheworld
Is it possible? Am I posting on the blog? I will try a little catch up, so many adorable babies so little time…
I’m sorry for the sleepless nights | The times I make you sigh | I’m sorry for the crankiness | The times I scream and cry | I’m sorry I don’t have the words | For why I need you so | But I can tell you this one thing | That I need you to know | You are the center of my world | You’re everything to me | You are my sun, my moon, my stars | You’re all that I can see | I’m only little a short time | Soon I won’t need you so | But I will love you all my life | Just wanted you to know ~L.R.Knost
When I was pregnant with my first son so many years ago there was no way I was letting anyone come near me with a camera. I was self conscious. Now almost 12 years later (yes 12 GULP) and with two more children, I truly regret not having hardly any photos of myself pregnant with my amazing first born son. I may not have thought I was beautiful then, but as I have grown older – along with my three children – I do wish that I would have had the confidence to have more photographic memories of that special time. I can’t remember how my belly looked the first time around, it would have been nice to compare it to the others for fun.
So I decided to talk about 3 GREAT reasons to have a maternity photography session!
#1 The Glow.
Admit it, your hair, nails and skin look fabulous! You may notice that your skin looks brighter. Hormones are partly responsible, but an increase in blood volume also brings more blood to the skin, giving it a radiant look. No matter if you think you look far from glowing or glamorous, we can easily draw out the beauty, love and femininity of pregnancy – you may just surprise yourself…
#2 The Belly.
Whether you have a big watermelon sized belly or a mini-bump belly it is all beautiful and all yours. Whether yours is perfectly smooth or has amazing bumps, marks and lines it is all beautiful and unique to you. If you did not feel comfortable with your belly before you were pregnant, now you can show it off knowing that it looks beautifully round, without worrying about its shape or look! A pregnant belly does a great job of hiding your squishy bits, so perhaps for the first time in a while, you have a chance to flaunt your belly and feel great about it!
#3 The Memories.
Once it is gone, it is gone. While this might not be your only child it is the only time you are pregnant with this child. Each pregnancy is different, and your belly changes with each pregnancy. You might be unsure about it now, but if you don’t have a photography session while you are pregnant, you have lost the chance to create once in a lifetime memories – you can’t get them back. Photos also trigger memories, feelings, emotions… they help you remember more vividly. Even if you don’t care for the memory for yourself, I can assure you that when your children are older, they will be delighted to see the photos of their pregnant Mommy, while they were growing inside of you.
Yes, you could just take images at home, or get them done by a friend or family member. But a professional photographer can create a work of art, taking into consideration the best angles, lighting, effects, focus and depth – they can totally transform what would otherwise be just a shot of you, into a story, a feeling, a work of art. They can prepare any images you may want printed and give them a great finish that will ‘wow’ not only you, but your friends and family – images that relatives may want to purchase and treasure for themselves. Great photos make great presents too!

Twenty fingers, twenty toes,
two sweet babies with cheeks of rose.
Born on the same day, two gifts from above,
lives entwined, two babies to love.
There is nothing sweeter than a sleeping newborn baby… well maybe two newborn babies are sweeter? These beautiful brother and sister babies slept so well for their big newborn session debut. They preferred to snuggle each other and I was extremely happy to oblige. Once they would get nice and snuggly with their sibling they would relax and even smile a little. How can that not be the sweetest? I love working with twin babies, it is so amazing to see their love for each other.
Thanks for stopping by!
