Catch up…

July 3, 2015

Is it possible? Am I posting on the blog? I will try a little catch up, so many adorable babies so little time…

I’m sorry for the sleepless nights | The times I make you sigh | I’m sorry for the crankiness | The times I scream and cry | I’m sorry I don’t have the words | For why I need you so | But I can tell you this one thing | That I need you to know | You are the center of my world | You’re everything to me | You are my sun, my moon, my stars | You’re all that I can see | I’m only little a short time | Soon I won’t need you so | But I will love you all my life | Just wanted you to know ~L.R.Knost

When I was pregnant with my first son so many years ago there was no way I was letting anyone come near me with a camera. I was self conscious. Now almost 12 years later (yes 12 GULP) and with two more children,  I  truly regret not having hardly any photos of myself pregnant with my amazing first born son. I may not have thought I was beautiful then, but as I have grown older – along with my three children – I do wish that I would have had the confidence to have more photographic memories of that special time. I can’t remember how my belly looked the first time around, it would have been nice to compare it to the others for fun.

So I decided to talk about 3 GREAT reasons to have a maternity photography session!

#1 The Glow.

Admit it, your hair, nails and skin look fabulous! You may notice that your skin looks brighter. Hormones are partly responsible, but an increase in blood volume also brings more blood to the skin, giving it a radiant look. No matter if you think you look far from glowing or glamorous, we can easily draw out the beauty, love and femininity of pregnancy – you may just surprise yourself…

#2 The Belly.

Whether you have a big watermelon sized belly or a mini-bump belly it is all beautiful and all yours. Whether yours is perfectly smooth or has amazing bumps, marks and lines it is all beautiful and unique to you. If you did not feel comfortable with your belly before you were pregnant, now you can show it off knowing that it looks beautifully round, without worrying about its shape or look! A pregnant belly does a great job of hiding your squishy bits, so perhaps for the first time in a while, you have a chance to flaunt your belly and feel great about it!

#3 The Memories.

Once it is gone, it is gone. While this might not be your only child it is the only time you are pregnant with this child. Each pregnancy is different, and your belly changes with each pregnancy. You might be unsure about it now, but if you don’t have a photography session while you are pregnant, you have lost the chance to create once in a lifetime memories – you can’t get them back. Photos also trigger memories, feelings, emotions… they help you remember more vividly. Even if you don’t care for the memory for yourself, I can assure you that when your children are older, they will be delighted to see the photos of their pregnant Mommy, while they were growing inside of you.

Yes, you could just take images at home, or get them done by a friend or family member. But a professional photographer can create a work of art, taking into consideration the best angles, lighting, effects, focus and depth – they can totally transform what would otherwise be just a shot of you, into a story, a feeling, a work of art. They can prepare any images you may want printed and give them a great finish that will ‘wow’ not only you, but your friends and family – images that relatives may want to purchase and treasure for themselves. Great photos make great presents too!

Hearts entwined
Twenty fingers, twenty toes,
two sweet babies with cheeks of rose.
Born on the same day, two gifts from above,
lives entwined, two babies to love.

Philadelphia Newborn Twins Photographer

There is nothing sweeter than a sleeping newborn baby… well maybe two newborn babies are sweeter? These beautiful brother and sister babies slept so well for their big newborn session debut. They preferred to snuggle each other and I was extremely happy to oblige. Once they would get nice and snuggly with their sibling they would relax and even smile a little. How can that not be the sweetest? I love working with twin babies, it is so amazing to see their love for each other.

New Year Resolutions…

January 15, 2015

Michelle Lindenmuth Photography needs to update the blog more often. It is sadly neglected and under appreciated. So my New Year resolution #1 will be to update the blog three times a week,  um twice a week. Yes, two times a week I will check in on the blog with updates and sneak peeks. I hope everyone is staying warm. This time of year it is so easy to hibernate but believe it or not it can be a fabulous time for photos. We usually have more room in the schedule and a little snow can be a fantastic prop. If snow or cold isn’t your thing, a trip to Longwood Gardens is delightful and it is off-peak there so crowds are low. We are heading out there this weekend for a couple of sessions and I am looking forward to seeing some little friends in the nice warm conservatory.

Newborn sessions are in full swing for 2015. I greeted by first newborn of 2015 last week in Philadelphia. Dad is a huge Philly sports fan and I adored their nursery, which combined Philly old and new. He was a curious little guy who did not seem very interested falling asleep but lots of nursing, snuggling and rocking eased him in for a few sleepy photographs. I particularly love the photos of Mom and Dad in awe of their new sweet guy. LOVE!

I love when Mom and Dad want to be in the photos as well. Remember these photos aren’t just for you to remember this time but some day when these beautiful babies are grown up they want to see their Moms and Dads in the photos. I love the photos of me as a baby with my Dad rocking his bell bottom jeans and a super seventies ‘stache. (ahhh showing my age.) As always I am so honored so many families in the Philadelphia area choose me to document this special time in their lives.

We are now booking into July for newborn sessions. No, it’s never to early to call and pre-schedule.  Newborn spots are filling quickly and Michelle is now getting travel request from clients afar. So please if you want us to document this amazing time for you please contact us!

Are you undecided on whether to book MLP for your newborn session? Maternity? Email or call with your questions. I love to talk on the phone!

I will answer all your questions and we will talk about how to capture this amazing time in your life.

Thanks for stopping by!
